In this year's election campaign President Trump sought to convince voters that his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, the economy and race protests had done enough to win a second term.
Meanwhile, former Vice President Joe Biden was attempting to become the oldest American President in history on a platform of healing divisions, health-care and environmental reform.
With the Democratic candidate’s campaign appearing to have been successful, this panel will meet to debate if he might make America great again. How might a Biden presidency repair the racial, economic and ideological schisms that threaten America’s future?
This panel will be chaired by Liam McArthur MSP, Member, Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body, and includes:
- Jason Boxt, US pollster
- Dr Clodagh Harrington, Associate Professor in American Politics, De Montfort University, Leicester
- Kenny Farquharson, Columnist, The Times
The event is run in partnership with The Times, Scotland.
